Beginning work on PMSE

| June 3, 2007

While waiting for feedback on the web-based and PDF versions of The Art of ‘Ware, I have started work on Pitfalls of Modern Software Engineering (or, as I call it, PMSE or ‘pimsee’). I have done a first (and very preliminary draft) of the introduction to PMSE. My next step will be to take the pitfalls from my original book and place them within my planned structure. Once that is done, I’ll start filling in new pitfalls.

All this is likely to go a bit more slowly than The Art of ‘Ware did, since I have one case going to trial this month and another going to trial next month.  But I’ve been talking about doing this for years, and I’d like to maintain my current momentum.

Once I have PMSE well underway, I will likewise start work on Surviving Complexity. My goal is to have all three available on-line and in PDF format, with appropriate cross-referencing among the three works.  ..bruce..
