Poomacha Fire Maps – 16:30

| October 24, 2007

I have discovered a source of Infra-Red data to be used in mapping. The data is high quality and geo-registered which is very good news for accuracy. The bad news is it is a day old. However I wanted to show you what Poomacha looked like at 20:00 Tuesday Oct 23

Looking East / North East

Looking South / South East

You can clearly see the fire brewing in the canyons on the flanks of Palomar and climbing up the ridges.

Thanks you for providing the amazing images. We wish that we had discovered you earlier.

  2. Thank you so much for posting this!
This provides very accurate information as opposed to the approximations in all of the other maps of the fires being posted by the nctimes.com and signonsandiego.com but also understand that smoke obliterates what is going on as I went through the Paradise Fire in 2003. If you choose not to post updates to this, can you please post the website from which we can get updates ourselves?
    Thank you again.
Watching from Orange County this time, but still have interests in this area.
