After a couple of very slow (>18 min/mile) days, I posted my best time to date: 2:55:10, or 15:55/mile. My goal is to finish consistently under 3 hours/11 miles, and to be able to break 15:00/mile on a weekly basis. I suspect I’ll need to lose some more weight in order to make that goal. […]
Gorgeous day today, so I took my Nikon D-70 along to photograph the route. I’ll post those photos later in the Trek tab. I’m glad I finished the walk when I did; it’s still quite sunny outside, but now the wind appears to be gusting in the 20-30 mph range (and possibly higher). ..bruce..
Shorter and slower today. Shorter because I walked to the local Hertz outlet to pick up a rental car for myself (Sandra left this morning, driving over to Utah to visit family). I have been fortunate enough to pick up an Apple TV this past weekend, and like a good nerd, spent a vast amount of time tinkering with it. There has been some interest and breathless anticipation waiting for this latest Apple gizmo to pop out of the Cupertino womb. Is it the “next big thing”? […]
Today’s Washington Post has an article about the resignation of Lawrence Small from his post as Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution. The following paragraph (on page 2 of the story) caught my eye: Small has also received $1.15 million in housing allowances over a six-year period in return for agreeing to use his 6,500-square-foot home […]
Tweeter Cuts Back – Video Fans Mourn
Tweeter Cuts Back – Video Fans Mourn Tweeter is a good store, they have an excellent selection of equipment, the sales staff tend to have a clue (at least at the local ones) and the prices are competitive. I purchased my current, highly prized Samsung DLP at Tweeter, and I was very happy with the […]
